What is Kaivalya Tantric Breathwork?

Originating in the high Himalayan region, the Kaivalya Tantra Breath system was developed and is practiced by cave babas who gradually work their way into higher and higher altitudes while combating the elements. They use this powerful practice to eclipse limitations in the process of transcending the mind's identification with food and clothes despite the harshness of the environment: think snow capped peaks in freezing temperatures. Their aim is to reach ‘Kaivalya’, a oneness with Brahman (the effulgence of God), by developing the complete embodiment of non-attachment and non-aversion to anything of this world: Complete peace and equipoise despite any circumstance through a powerful neurological restructuring process.

This has a remarkable effect on balancing the endocrine (hormonal) system as well as activating the chakra system. The cave baba who imparted this knowledge also called it the ‘Bliss of breath’ because it becomes a catalyst for moving through and transcending unwanted tendencies and stuck emotions. In the process, the way is paved for re-envisioning reality and supercharging intention.

Please note: This practice is classified under the original and traditional form of "tantra", meaning "to transcend identifications with the mundane focused on elevating consciousness, exploring reality, and achieving liberation by integrating spiritual practice with everyday life". This understanding radically differs from modern day "neo-tantra" which focuses predominantly on sexuality.

“Words can’t really begin to express how wonderful Radhika is, and how inspiring, fulfilling and beautiful this training was. Radhika is a true guru – her practice is so admirable, she possesses so much knowledge of ashtanga, she’s kind, patient, tough when needed in strength/inversions, and just pushes you to be better than you are. Always smiling, approachable, warm and light – I could not have asked for a better mentor. She is a lovely person – inside and out." - Amie Romano
