Yoga classes at Krishna Village
The Sanskrit word “Yoga” means “to link", "to connect” or “to unite”. For thousands of years, different yoga traditions have been practiced with the intention of connecting our true self (the spirit soul) to the Divine.
Among these different yogic paths, at Krishna Village we practice three:
physical yoga asanas (connection through body movement),
practical karma koga (connection through service and discipline of action) which both complement and support
the highest form, bhakti yoga (connection to through love and devotion)
This Week's Yoga Schedule
Classes for retreat guests & volunteers
In our yoga hall, we teach 2-3 yoga classes per day for our Retreat Guests, Volunteers and Visitors with a Day Pass.
The main style is Vinyasa Flow, but since we often welcome visiting teachers from all over the world, we also get tastes of Hatha, Yin and other styles.
Our gentle sunrise yoga takes place Mon-Fri from 5am - 6am. They provide a relaxed and centred start to the day.
Our relaxed morning yoga takes place daily from 6:30am - 8am, usually in a smaller group setting.
The more dynamic afternoon yoga takes place daily from 4:15pm – 5:45pm. After the class you are invited to join us for a delicious vegetarian dinner at 6:15pm and to participate in the evening arati at the temple (a 30min kirtan), if you like.
In addition, we offer classes and workshops exclusively for retreat guests. Please refer to the above weekly yoga schedule.
All classes are targeted at beginners, with additional options being given to more advanced students. The classes are facilitated by our lead teachers Lila Kirtana and Laxmivan Kubitzky, our international guest teachers, and on some occasions, by our yoga teacher trainees who teach under supervision as part of their mentoring process. As a Krishna Village retreat guest or volunteer, classes are free for you.
Visiting with a Day Pass
If you come along as a casual visitor just for the day, you can either pay $10 for a casual class at reception, or purchase a Day Pass for $45 and attend all classes as well as 3x vegetarian meals/day. Simply choose a day and pre-purchase your Day Pass below, and arrive at any time, ready to get started. You are welcome to attend any of the classes on our yoga schedule.
Bhakti yoga
Nurturing our spiritual side by practicing loving service and devotion towards the Divine and amongst each other is the original purpose of the Krishna Farm. If you are interested to learn more about this ancient tradition, you are most welcome to attend the daily Srimad Bhagavatam class at the temple from 7:30am - 8:15am as well as our regular temple program.
