Meet your facilitators
Caren and Dee have been facilitating Intuitive Balinese massage courses together since 2011. Developed by Dee, this combination of classic Balinese massage and Reiki has become a highly sought after treatment option with practitioners from all over the world training and becoming accredited
Caren holds a Bachelor of Applied Social Science degree and has worked in the counseling industry for 6 years. She is a qualified massage therapist and member of IICT. Apart from the hands on massage teaching, she helps to prepare the new practitioners for the professional aspect of entering the health and wellbeing industry. She covers topics from accreditation and insurance to spiritual and emotional self-care.
Dee has worked in the natural health industry both as a business owner and massage therapist for approximately 15 years. She holds a diploma in remedial massage and a variety of qualifications in different whole body massage techniques, including the modalities of Balinese massage, yoga floor massage and Kahuna massage. She is also a Reiki master and Spirit Surgery facilitator. Her IICT accreditation qualifies her to provide training and issue internationally recognized certificates in Intuitive Balinese massage and Reiki.
Located between Byron Bay and the Gold Coast, the Krishna Village can host up to 75 people in a combination of rooms, dorms and camping spots. There are usually around 25 full time volunteers who work in our organic gardens and maintain the grounds, 10 long term community members and 15-25 retreat guests or Karma Yogis.
All rooms have shared amenities. The amenities block includes showers, toilets and a coin operated laundry (byo laundry powder).
Common areas include the kitchen & campfire area (the heart of the Krishna Village), the reading room (with Internet hotspot) and the yoga hall where we gather for classes.
Single, Twin Share & Double rooms
The Krishna Village has 3 Double, 5 Twin Share and 8 Single rooms. They are all set in former shipping containers that have been renovated and turned into simple but comfortable accommodation. All Twin Share rooms are equipped with bunk beds. Bedding is being provided, but you bring your own towels and toiletries.
Set among beautiful mango and lychee trees in our eastern garden, our camp ground can host up to 30 tents and 10 camper vans. The area for the vans is equipped with electricity. The amenities block is only 50m away.
Delicious Vegetarian Food
The Krishna Farm has been producing organic veggies since the 1980s and has therefore fantastic conditions to grow excellent produce. We grow as much of our own food as we can, and otherwise buy locally wherever possible.
We provide 3 delicious vegetarian meals every day, with lunches taking place at the Krishna Village community kitchen, and breakfast and dinners - mostly Indian style - served at the prasadam hall, next to the temple.
All our food is prasadam - sacred food prepared in a consciousness of loving service. Like in other cultures, we offer our food before we eat to say Grace and thank the Divine for the sun, the rain, and all the visible and invisible blessings necessary to co-create a delicious meal. Feel free to sing along with us, or just listen and enjoy...
The Krishna Farm
Nestled in the foothills of Mount Warning, in the heart of the Northern Rivers of New South Wales, the Krishna Farm “New Govardhana” is a 1000 acre property with orchards, certified organicveggie gardens, cows, horses, streams and swimming holes in abundance.
From the moment when you cross the rustic wooden bridge over the Oxley River and pass through the beckoning avenue of trees which comprises the entrance to the farm, you will notice that this Vedic Yoga Sanctuary is a special place and that your soul finds peace and a sense of coming home.
New Govardhana serves as an ashram to a community of yogis who aspire to live according to their deepest vows and commitments on their path of service, spiritual contentment and happiness, Bhakti Yoga. Their service and dedication make this location a beautiful place of growth, healing and spiritual awakening. If you are interested, please come along and visit our beautiful Radha Govardhandhari temple.
A PLACE OF PEACE AND TRANQUILITY
One of the greatest gift that I gave myself was a one week yoga retreat stay at Krishna Village. This magical land allows me to connect with my true self and every beautiful being I have met there. I took two days Baliness massage course by Caren and Dee. They are wonderful teachers with special ability to love and heal. I can feel my heart is smiling when I think of them. Everything about it is amazing, the nature, the food, and the people. I left with my mind open and my spirit hight! - Tola S., tripadvisor
I visited Krishna Village for a week and attended a Balinese massage course. Both my stay and the course were amazing. The Village and surrounding nature are so peaceful, I felt an enormous calmness as soon as I stepped out of my car. The organisation and the people who live there make you feel at home straight away.
The massage course by Dee and Caren was one of a kind; they are wonderful people and teachers and gave the participants the confidence to massage with their heart. The results were amazing. The Krishna devotees at the Temple are very friendly and open to tell you about Hare Krishna, without judging you if you have other viewpoints. (And they know how to cook delicious food!)
All in all, I had a unforgettable time and would love to visit this special place in the (near) future. - Florian Rath, tripadvisor
TWO WHOLESOME DAYS
I recently stayed at the Krishna Village and participated in the Intuitive Balinese Massage Course and it was amazing. The atmosphere of the Village is calm and relaxed with a great energy in an awesome setting being overlooked by Mount Warning. The accommodation is fantastic (cabin with everything I needed) and the gardens are colorful and tranquil.
The course was perfect and ran for 2 wholesome days with Dee and Caren (course facilitators) being great instructors and awesome people. Whether you are seeking a career in massage, or just want to gain another life skill the course is perfect with a lot of hands on experience. I definitely recommend the course, and looking forward to a career shift.
The vegetarian meals were fantastic and it is such a friendly and inviting atmosphere. Eating at the temple was awesome. Thanks Krishna Village, I will be back with my family next time and looking forward to attending the yoga classes and workshops.
