Release your past for a fresh start
Christmas Retreat: 19-26 December 2017
About our Super Soul Seminars
Super Soul Seminars are events of super-enrichment and lasting transformation. They are primarily based on the timeless wisdom of yogic philosophy which continues to speak to the human mind and heart through the ages. Though uncommon, this embodied wisdom is presented to you with a careful blend of reliable social science in the most 'relatable' and relevant way complete with cutting-edge practical application. Whether you are wanting the universal keys to successful relationships, expanding influence, altering attraction, authentic leadership, emotions management or seek to unleash your true nature, all these topics are carefully unpacked from their 5000 year old Sanskrit codes for you to take full advantage and apply them to our 21st century reality.
To see if the Krishna Village retreat experience is for you, read our FAQ for Retreat Guests and have a look at our Code of Conduct. If you are dealing with any physical or mental health issues, please also check our Are you ready page to make sure this is a suitable course for you.
The Art of Letting Go
“As I walked out the door toward the gate that would lead to my freedom, I knew if I didn't leave my bitterness and hatred behind, I'd still be in prison.” - Nelson Mandela
We often feel that the person we need to forgive the most, is ourselves. Mistakes happen and we know they will in the future - but how do we actually leave guilt, shame and regret behind to start fresh?
This retreat week will equip you with practical and spiritual methods to help release parts of the past you no longer wish to carry with you, in a fun and engaging way. It’s important to release the past from our consciousness to allow you to drive your life looking forward rather than in the rear-view mirror. The 'Art of Letting Go' will give you insights into the difference between forgetting and forgiving; something that’s crucial now more than ever, as the world goes through difficult times, and conflicts in relationships are easily ignited. Letting go, in this context, isn't an act of weakness - it's an attribute of the strong and a sign of self-love, paving the way to (inner) peace.
Look forward to rich discussions, interweaved with interactive exercises and an abundance of modern and ancient knowledge surrounding the benefits of letting go:
Presentations on the myths, reluctances and challenges to letting go
Insights from the knowledge of the ancients on dropping shame and guilt
Powerful guided meditations and simulations around 'resentment dropping'
Personal reflective exercises for permanent transformation
Gratitude sharing with like-minded spiritual seekers
An open, friendly, non-judgemental environment to learn and grow
Basic meditation and pranayama techniques to help
The Krishna Village can host up to 60 people in a combination of rooms, dorms and camping spots. There are usually around 25 full time volunteers who work in our organic gardens and maintain the grounds, 20 Yoga Teacher trainees, 10 long term community members and 15-25 retreat guests or Karma Yogis.
All rooms have shared amenities. The amenities block includes showers, toilets and a coin operated laundry (byo laundry powder).
Common areas include the kitchen & campfire area (the heart of the Krishna Village), the reading room (with Internet hotspot) and the yoga hall where we gather for classes.
Single & double rooms
The Krishna Village has 6 double and 11 single rooms. They are all set in former shipping containers that have been renovated and turned into simple but comfortable accommodation. Most rooms are equipped with bunk beds, bedding is being provided.
Set among beautiful mango and lychee trees in our eastern garden, our camp ground can host up to 20 tents and 5 camper vans. The area for the vans is equipped with electricity. The amenities block is only 50m away.
Delicious Vegetarian Food
The Krishna Farm has been producing organic veggies since the 1980s and has therefore fantastic conditions to grow excellent produce. We grow as much of our own food as we can, and otherwise buy locally wherever possible.
We provide 3 delicious vegetarian meals every day, with lunches taking place at the Krishna Village community kitchen, and breakfast and dinners - mostly Indian style - served at the prasadam hall, next to the temple.
All our food is prasadam - sacred food prepared in a consciousness of loving service. Like in other cultures, we offer our food before we eat to say Grace and thank the Divine for the sun, the rain, and all the visible and invisible blessings necessary to co-create a delicious meal. Feel free to sing along with us, or just listen and enjoy...
The Krishna Farm
Nestled in the foothills of Mount Warning, in the heart of the Northern Rivers of New South Wales, the Hare Krishna farm “New Govardhana” is a 1000 acre property with orchards, certified organicveggie gardens, cows, horses, streams and swimming holes in abundance.
New Govardhana serves as an ashram to a community of yogis who aspire to live according to their deepest vows and commitments on their path of service, spiritual contentment and happiness (Bhakti Yoga). Their service and dedication make this location a beautiful place of growth, healing and spiritual awakening. If you are interested, please come along and visit our beautiful Radha Govardhandhari temple and learn ore about the origins or our "simple giving, high thinking" philosophy.

"More than I could have imagined"
"I signed up to Michaels Art Of Letting Go course over Christmas and it was more than I could have ever imagined. Michael is a natural, genuine person so full of magic - I am recommending all my friends to his courses. I have came home feeling so filled with love, gratitude and excitement for life. For self growth and exploration it's honestly one of the best experiences I've ever had. He is a modern day philosophical wizard and I can't wait to do some more work together!"
- Jenna Duff, retreat guest
"Michael is truly a modern day philosopher. He is imaginative, light hearted, and one of the most passionate people I have ever met. His uncanny and innate ability to apply age old wisdom and philosophy in such a fresh and relatable way is extraordinary. His talk on the Power of Forgiveness was awe inspiring, thought provoking, and challenged me to experience one of the most monumental shifts in perspective. I will forever be in gratitude to this fellow spiritual warrior."
- Katrina Leavitt, Rhea Sunshine Yoga
"Perfect start to a new life"
"Michael helped me to let go of the past. He guided me through several meditations to help to control the mind and to forgive myself to create inner peace. The result was incredible. I am not there yet, but it was the perfect start to a new life with pure happiness. A life without guilt. Being able to live in the present moment (...) We are not our thoughts, we are not our mind.
One thing I liked was that he took time for just me and he did that for everyone in the room during the course. He guided us through a intimate meditation one by one. I found the experience life changing."
- Lies, long term volunteer and yoga teacher trainee
"Accept and shift my view"
"I went to the 'overcoming guilt' seminar because I felt guilty for not being there for a loved person. Michael helped me to accept and shift my view from events in the past to the future. He allowed me to reinforce positive thoughts and compassion for myself. I felt relieved afterwards and it was easier to move on with less baggage.
One thing I liked was the connection he built up with me, that was a powerful experience."
- David, retreat guest
"Amazing impact on my life"
"Michael I was just reflecting on what a difference your workshop has made & what perfect divine timing. [In the past,] I have not spent a night by myself in our house without feeling anxious and being on high alert (like a watch dog all night).I have now spent two nights just me and the boys and I can't believe how peaceful I feel.
I had a very cool meditation the other day.. I was out in nature and all of a sudden all the predators started to come out and walk with me and I wasn't afraid- I was totally in ore of their beauty. So I thought if I can do this with animals let try people and I ended up at a jail and all the men were outside - they parted for me as I walked through (was a bit wary at this point) they asked me to hug each one and I had tears streaming down - I could love every one of them. I was being warned of one coming up and one guy said no stay here I'll protect you but I continued on and came to the guy who had something he was going to stab me with I looked him in the eyes and he dropped the weapon and cried as I embraced him.
Your forgiveness workshop has had such an amazing impact on my life and I am so incredibly thankful for this massive gift you have given me and for your support and friendship. I am forever grateful."

Meet your Teacher
Our philosophy teacher Michael is simply born to teach and has a knack for presenting age old yogic philosophy in a way that makes it easy and fun to learn, and incredibly relevant to modern life.
Michael is a student by morn, teacher by noon and writer by night. At 17, while studying Maths, Physics and Business, he was noticed by Young Enterprise after joint-founding a company that personalised gifts in London, which went on to win a Future100 award for ethical and environmentally-friendly business. He came across the spiritual path of Bhakti-yoga in university and after graduating in Business from Cass Business School and landing a job in an international bank, he decided to explore the wisdom of yoga further. Having been to India 9 times over the past 6 years to study and explore the secrets of Indic wisdom texts like the Bhagavad-Gita, he was invited to teach philosophy and host interactive life seminars in universities and institutions in places like the UK, Belgium, Netherlands, Nigeria, Ghana, India, Australia and New Zealand since 2010.
Outside of teaching Michael enjoys travelling, cycling, playing football, volleyball, basketball, rapping, advising, problem-solving and challenges anyone on earth at table tennis.
